VC++ V-express Edition

Our entry-level package is the VC++ V-express Edition. It is designed to work with the latest version of VC++, known variously as Visual C++ 2005 and VC++ V8. For a real bargain, you can download the free version of VC++ V8 known as the Express Edition and combine it with our V-express to make a remarkably powerful and economical C++ compiler.

V-express consists of:

  1. our fully conforming Standard C++ library, packaged to work with the Microsoft C library (This differs only in small ways from the library shipped with VC++.)
  2. the C++ components of TR1, omitting the special math functions and the C99 library
  3. our library of code conversion facets for Unicode and other popular character encodings
  4. our library of allocators for node-based containers
  5. our portable multithreading library compatible with Boost and Posix threads

VC++ V8 is one of the most conforming compilers available today. Couple it with V-express and you get the most useful additions to the Standard C++ library, all in one convenient package.

If, after using the V-express package for a short time, you decide you want to license additional developers, or you want the rest of the Dinkum Compleat Libraries, we will credit your license fee toward a more comprehensive Binary Edition or Source Edition.
